With nearly 10 years of coaching experience, Andy began his track and field coaching career with the Wheat Ridge CARA Youth Track program from 2013-2018. He then helped coach the Lutheran High School Track and Field Team to two Colorado State Champion titles.
A Colorado native, Andy Herrold graduated from Wheat Ridge High School and was recruited by Valparaiso University in Indiana to compete as a Division 1 Hurdler. He then transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder where he earned a B. A. in English.
During his first season as the Sprint Coach at Metro State University of Denver, Andy coached 2-time RMAC Conference Champion and RMAC Athlete of the Year, Blaize Holland, who also earned All-American Honors as the 6th ranked 200m runner in the Country. During his time with Metro State University of Denver, Andy has also coached athletes to 6 All-RMAC Team Honors and 8 School Records.
